Apsara Sakbun brings an Olympic swimming background, experience in business operations and governance, and a passion for youth development to the Just Swim Board of Directors.  A Cambodian-Jamaican-American athlete, Apsara represented Cambodia at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where she also served as a flag bearer. She previously swam at Ball State University, serving as captain of the Women’s Swimming and Diving team.

Apsara works in banking in Charlotte, with experience in process improvement, organizational governance, and collaboration across teams. As Board Secretary, she is excited to apply those skills to support Just Swim’s continued growth.  Having previously coached with Just Swim, Apsara values the connections she built with its young swimmers and looks forward to helping more children build confidence, develop water safety skills, and find joy in swimming.

Outside of work, Apsara enjoys marathon running, embroidery, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Duncan, and their dog, Neely.
