Chris McGuire
Board President & Coach
As Board President and Director of Programming for Just Swim, Chris plays a central role in shaping the vision, structure, and day to day experience of the organization’s swim programs. Combining strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep passion for youth development, he helps create programs that are both technically effective and welcoming for swimmers and families of all backgrounds and ability levels.
A true visionary, Chris is the strategic heart of Just Swim. Now a husband and father to two young swimmers, his mission is to ensure every athlete leaves the pool feeling more confident and capable than when they arrived. Whether he is refining a swimmer's technique or guiding the long term direction of our movement, Chris is dedicated to making the water a "happy place" for every family in our community.
As both a coach and organizational leader, Chris is committed to creating an environment where swimmers feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow, not only as athletes, but as confident individuals who develop a lifelong comfort and love for the water.
Tiffany Hopkins, CPA, MBA
VP of Finance
What began as a simple mission to teach her daughter water survival skills quickly evolved into a full-scale family passion. As Tiffany watched the pool become her daughter’s "happy place", moving from summer leagues to year-round training, she found that her own role shifted from the sidelines to the heart of the action. A natural volunteer, she famously traded her "outdoor voice" at championship meets for a whistle as an assistant coach, eventually finding a permanent home for her advocacy with Just Swim.
Joining the Board of Directors is the perfect intersection of Tiffany’s personal world and professional prowess. A Steele Creek resident of 22 years, she brings a formidable 20-year career in accounting to the organization. As a CPA with an MBA, she provides the fiscal heart and strategic oversight necessary to fuel our growth. Having spent years as an amateur triathlete and distance runner, Tiffany understands the grit and dedication required for athletics, and she is thrilled to channel that energy into ensuring Just Swim remains an amazing, fun, and accessible resource for the entire community.
Tonya Harris
VP of Community Outreach
Tonya Harris is a lifelong learner with a deep commitment to education, leadership, and community engagement. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to helping students and families thrive through mentorship, communication, and meaningful opportunities for growth and success.
With more than two decades of experience in education and leadership, Tonya has served as a Language Arts teacher in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, helping students build confidence, strengthen critical-thinking skills, and reach their full potential. She has also remained committed to community outreach across North Carolina, building partnerships and supporting families in diverse communities.
Tonya is passionate about helping young people grow, develop confidence, and discover their strengths. She believes in creating supportive environments where children can thrive both in and out of the water while families feel welcomed, informed, and connected.
As a longtime Charlotte resident, Tonya is proud to serve her community through organizations that invest in children and help them build lifelong skills. That commitment aligns naturally with the mission of Just Swim, where she serves as Vice President of Community Outreach, supporting an organization that empowers young people through confidence, discipline, and opportunity.
